Cleveland, OH | May 9, 2013 “Its like the world is getting a little bit more crazy everyday,” said Anthony Morris, as he waited for a bus across the street from a cordon of police and media surrounding the home of Ariel Castro. Castro reportedly kidnapped and tortured three women - Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus, and Michelle Knight - for a decade, keeping them locked in his Cleveland area home. “Kids are always innocent until we fuck them up… How can you do this to kids?”
Cleveland, OH | May 9, 2013 I ran into Simonte Bowen as I was wandering around the downtrodden Cleveland neighborhood where Ariel Castro held 3 women prisoner for the last decade. We spoke about the news, about its repercussions for the neighborhood, and life in America in general. After a long talk about cheap tattoos, Simonte asked me whether it was better to enlist in the Navy or Army. He was looking for a better future, and wondered which service would better educate him.
